I've been interested in photography since a very young age. I had an uncle that dabbled in photography and he gave me my first 35mm Argus camera which I still have today. It sits on a shelf today as I have really taken to the digital age.I have also had a love of travel. I have always had the urge to get out and see and photograph things I never thought I would have a chance to see in my lifetime. I love traveling to Europe. It is so filled with history, buildings that were built in the 11th century still being used today, people still tied to their heritage and traditions. I have been fortunate enough to travel to 30+ countries so far. My 2 favorite trips were (A) a 2 week cruise to the Baltics including a 2 day stay in St Petersburg, Russia and (B) a 2 week safari to Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
I also have a very large place in my heart for animals, both wild and domesticated. I am currently "owned" by 2 Siamese cats whom my wife and I adopted through the Virginia Siamese Rescue, a wonderful organization. I also enjoy seeing animals in their natural habitat.
I have merged my loves of animals and photography by delving in to Pet Photography. It's amazing how a little time and patience relaxes a pet where they show their personality. Pets are now a part of the family, they are no longer an animal chained in the backyard that we have to feed once a day. Pets have so much to offer, love, warmth, they know we are not feeling well even before we do, and they are always there for us. They ask so little in return, just to be loved and taken care of. Wouldn't it be great to have animal abuse wiped out in our lifetimes?
